Hayyy Farms raises Alpine goats. The goats are pasture-fed throughout the day, with basic grain available for the does during milking to assist with healthy milk production. No medications/antibiotics/steroids/other chemicals are used. The goats are hand milked into sanitized containers, where the milk is filtered and then immediately refrigerated. To comply with ODA laws, they label the milk “for pet use” and are thus able to sell it directly from the farm without going through a herdshare. On a scheduled pickup day, the milk is transferred into a sanitized measuring container (if the buyer brings their own container) or into one of their sale containers, which are BPA-free plastic containers with lids. It’s kept in the fridge until the buyer arrives, then sold. They charge $5/quart or $15/gallon. To encourage eco-friendliness, they also have the option of bringing your own container for a discounted price of $10 per gallon.
